Democracy in Your Head

Regardless of who you are voting for, if your reaction to people voting for another candidate is anything but “I disagree with your choice but you should definitely vote for whoever you like,” then YOU are the one contributing to a dangerously totalitarian development.

In civilized societies, people don’t bully those who disagree, don’t try to silence them or make them look or feel inadequate, in order to get what you believe is right. Furthermore, if you don’t care about true freedom and human dignity for everybody, not just ‘your kind’ or those who think like you, then there is no hope. I am afraid, democracy starts on the inside, not with “them.”
