This is a bit embarrassing but I have a reaction of a 5-year-old to strangers who check me out too intently. I laugh. I’ve been this way since I was a teen.

So today, I am walking in the street and I see a group of about fifteen construction workers at lunch break. I am thinking to myself, “Stay strong, Tessa. You can do it.” So I walk through them, chin up, eyes straight, trying to control the laughter. They are friendly and not obnoxious, so I let my guards down and joke with them. And as I am coming out the row of construction workers, an unrelated guy walking at me stares unmistakably below my chin and says, “Wow.”

At which point I can’t control it anymore and laugh. And I keep walking and laughing. And no, I don’t do drugs. Life is fun as is.
